Why blog? challenge
Alex Schroeder blogged about the Blog Question Challenge.
The Blog Question Challenge asks the following questions:
- Why did you start blogging in the first place?
- What platform are you using to manage your blog, and why do you use it?
- Have you blogged on other platforms before?
- What’s your favourite post on your blog?
- Any future plans for the blog?
So let me try to answer:
My first (unsuccessful) attempt in blogging was during the start of the 00s at livejournal. I had various following attempts, with selfwritten blogging software (written in Common Lisp), finally settling for static html generated by org-mode.
Reason for my urge to blog was on the one hand, just to conserve knowledge or rather thoughts for myself being aware that not many people were interested in my scrawlings. Nevertheless some hope, to carry on these informations to other people. So it became a highlight for me, as Sacha Chua mentioned one of my posts about using emacs as screenreader.
Of my current blog, I probably like most my thoughts on how to enter APL-symbols. This seems to be actually some new content to the big shit of internet - at least nobody else seems to have published this specific information. Future plans for the blog? Actually none, let's see how long I have the drive to maintain it.
